Welcome to our Blog!

It's only been almost 4 months and I'm finally getting around to starting our family blog. I have to be honest, because I feel that most new mothers aren't, becoming a mother has been very overwhelming for me. I'm sure it is for most, but no one really talks about how overwhelming it is--so it was a real surprise to me. Now I had adjusted well and am much less overwhelmed!

Anyway, on to AJ. As you all know by now, he was born May 30th at 11:22pm. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 21.5 inches long. He came out all wrinkly and had a huge cone head and hair on his ears like an old man--but he was the cutest thing I have ever seen and we both immediately fell madly deeply in love with him. When they put him on my chest for the first time, he lifted his head and looked around--a strong and curious baby from the beginning! I see so much of John and I in him--but mostly me (he loves to talk!). Here is a picture of him when he was born:

He is just so adorable. I can gush on here as much as I want because if you are reading this, you are interested in our lives and I have to say he is the best thing to ever happen to us. He is very playful now-a-days and we love watching him grow and learn. He loves to explore with his hands and mouth. As I type, he is sitting next to me in his entertainer looking at all of the gadgets, touching them, all while sticking his hands in his mouth and trying to swallow the frog puppet. Ok, so now here is an update (I love this one since it melts my heart!):

He is getting big, it's unbelievable. He last weighed over 13 pounds at his last appointment--which was nearly 2 months ago. We go back on the 30th to find out how much he weighs now--I wouldn't be surprised if it was 17 or so pounds! I'm sure he has doubled his birth weight. Now he is teething--big time. He is having such a hard time! Hopefully it doesn't last long! Ok, one more picture--this one is for John since the skins won today (oh, just thought of something, AJ will be seeing his first Skins/Eagles battle in the next few weeks!):

Ok, I'm going to get going...a teething baby needs my attention!
